The Amaury Faye Trio Spring Tour 2017 kicks off today at A Vaulx Jazz Festival

The Amaury Faye Trio spring tour is launched today Tuesday, March 7th. The tour features several concerts in different cities of France and Belgium, including, Lyon, Brussels, Paris and Toulouse. Some of those performances (including A Vaulx Jazz Festival) were made possible thanks to the national competition Rezzo-Focal/Jazz à Vienne won by the trio last summer.

The trio will present songs from the new album Clearway (Jazz Village - 2017), planned to be released next month on Friday, April 7th. The new album will be presented online next week and followed by a press conference in Paris on Tuesday, March 28th at the New Morning jazzclub. Videos and an EPK presenting the project will be released eventually.

INITIATIVE H 5 YEARS BIRTHDAY - "TOO YOUNG TO DIE"

This month of January 2017 is going to be pretty special for Initiative H (founded and led by french saxophonist David Haudrechy) which will celebrates its 5 years of existence.

Since its creation in 2012, Initiative H became a major project in contemporary french creation. Its excellence has been aknowledged by the press and the public and the collective still has a lot of things to say. This 5 years anniversary will be celebrated in the city where everything has begun: Toulouse, France.

INITIATIVE H & Vjing to perform at Theatre des Mazades

Initiative H will be performing after a 3 days residence at Théâtre des Mazades, Toulouse (France) with french artist Romain Quartier. This is the third collaboration between the team and Romain Quartier, who can be now considered as a member of the band.

The performance will reunite the music of last Initiative H's album Darkwave (Neuklang - 2015) and a live video performance (Super8) by Romain.

As the official opening of the venue's cultural season, this concert will be the first and unique 2016 show of Initiative H in Toulouse after a series of concerts in France.

Amaury Faye as "Best Instrumentalist / Soloist" at European Jazz Contest "Tremplin Jazz d'Avignon" 201

The last competition of 2016 for the Amaury Faye Trio ended up pretty well with another award for Amaury as Best Instrumentalist / Soloist. The Tremplin Jazz d'Avignon is a european competition which take place every summer in Avignon during 2 days. 6 projects were competing this year and the german project Just Another Foundry is the winner of the competition. Amaury Faye Trio winner of the Jazz en Ville National Competition 2016

Amaury Faye Trio won the Jazz en Ville National Competition 2016 which took place during the Jazz en Ville Festival in Vannes, France.

This event gave the opportunity to the band to play in first part of french trumpeter Airelle Besson.

Among 12 different projects competing during three days in different categories (only one winner per day), the trio had the opportunity to share the stage with two other outstanding bands aiming for the award:

The Amaury Faye Trio won the 2016 edition of Jazz à Vienne Rezzo Focal Competition, which took place during three days featuring nine different bands.

Every year, each province or jazz festival of France send a band selected to represent it. Amaury Faye Trio represented Jazz In Marciac.

The band will have thanks to this award the opportunity to record an album distributed by french label Jazz Village (Harmonia Mundi), an artistic management for one year and will play in 2017 in a few important jazz scenes in France, including the Theatre Antique of Jazz à Vienne.

Amaury Faye Trio finalist of the Jazz en Ville National Competition 2016

Amaury Faye Trio has been selected for the 2016 edition of the national contest of "Jazz en Ville" festival. The trio will perform in front of an audience and a jury on Friday, July 29th.

The Jazz en Ville national contest will receive 12 different projects coming from different parts of France. The contest will take place during 4 days in the city of Vannes (Bretagne, France) and the winner will play for the festival the same day at night on the central stage ("Les Remparts"). This performance will happen shortly after the national competition Rezzo-Focal Jazz à Vienne, on Thursday, June 30th, and only a few days before the european contest of Avignon.

Amaury Faye Trio has been selected for the 2016 edition of the european jazz contest "Tremplin Jazz d'Avignon". The trio will perform in front of an audience and a jury on Monday, August 1st.

The Avignon international jazz competition will receive 6 different projects coming from different parts of Europe. Amaury Faye Trio wins 2 awards at International Biberacher Jazzpreis 2016 (Germany)

Amaury Faye Trio made it at the International Biberacher Jazzpreis Competition 2016 by winning 2 awards after a performance executed at the Biberach Stadthalle, Germany.

The two awards consist in the following ones:

- Public Prize

- 2nd Jury Prize

Those 2 prizes illustrate how Amaury Faye's music has been considered by both the public and the professionals, placing him in the top of a competition with 40 bands and 9 different countries.
