Amaury Faye Trio winner of the Jazz à Vienne Rezzo Focal Competition 2016

The Amaury Faye Trio won the 2016 edition of Jazz à Vienne Rezzo Focal Competition, which took place during three days featuring nine different bands.

Every year, each province or jazz festival of France send a band selected to represent it. Amaury Faye Trio represented Jazz In Marciac.

The band will have thanks to this award the opportunity to record an album distributed by french label Jazz Village (Harmonia Mundi), an artistic management for one year and will play in 2017 in a few important jazz scenes in France, including the Theatre Antique of Jazz à Vienne.

Amaury Faye Trio finalist of the Jazz en Ville National Competition 2016

Amaury Faye Trio has been selected for the 2016 edition of the national contest of "Jazz en Ville" festival. The trio will perform in front of an audience and a jury on Friday, July 29th.

The Jazz en Ville national contest will receive 12 different projects coming from different parts of France. The contest will take place during 4 days in the city of Vannes (Bretagne, France) and the winner will play for the festival the same day at night on the central stage ("Les Remparts"). This performance will happen shortly after the national competition Rezzo-Focal Jazz à Vienne, on Thursday, June 30th, and only a few days before the european contest of Avignon.

Initiative H --x-- Médéric Collignon --x-- Emile Parisien --x-- Vincent Artaud - DARKWAVE RELEASE PARTY at Tempo Jazz Vincennes

On Friday, October 30th, Initiative H will hit the stage at TEMPO JAZZ, in Vincennes (Paris) for the official release of the second album on the german label Neuglank. Amaury Faye Trio has been selected for the 2016 edition of the european jazz contest "Tremplin Jazz d'Avignon". The trio will perform in front of an audience and a jury on Monday, August 1st.

The Avignon international jazz competition will receive 6 different projects coming from different parts of Europe. This competition is recognized as a major contest and this is a second time in one year that Amaury Faye's new project has the honor to be a part of an international event. This performance will happen shortly after the national competition Rezzo-Focal Jazz à Vienne, on Thursday, June 30th.

Amaury Faye Trio wins 2 awards at International Biberacher Jazzpreis 2016 (Germany)

Amaury Faye Trio made it at the International Biberacher Jazzpreis Competition 2016 by winning 2 awards after a performance executed at the Biberach Stadthalle, Germany.

The two awards consist in the following ones:

- Public Prize

- 2nd Jury Prize

Those 2 prizes illustrate how Amaury Faye's music has been considered by both the public and the professionals, placing him in the top of a competition with 40 bands and 9 different countries.

Amaury Faye Trio has just been selected as a finalist for the Biberacher Jazzpreis 2016, an international competition that takes place in Germany in Biberach (Bade-Wurtemberg) between Munich and Friedrichshafen.

The event happens only every two years and only 4 bands are selected to compete among 40 applicants. This year, the 4 finalists are:

INITIATIVE H & V-Jing to share the stage with Nasheet Waits @ A Vaulx Jazz Festival

Initiative H x V jing will be performing on Saturday, March 12th at A Vaulx Jazz Festival (Lyon, FRANCE) and will present the new album, Darkwave (Neuklang, 2015). The team founded and led by french saxophonist David Haudrechy has already been largely acclaimed by public and critics, and this will be the first time for Lyon to experience Initiative H live with a V Jing performance (by french artist Romain Quartier).

This show will take place in first part of the Nasheet Waits Equality Quartet, led by american legendary drummer Nasheet Waits, featuring Mark Helias (bass), Aruan Ortiz (piano) and Darius Jones (sax alto).

"Tribute to John Coltrane": Amaury to perform with saxophonist Fred Delplancq in Brussels on March 11

Amaury will be performing at the Armenian cultural center Hay Doun in Brussels with belgian saxophonist Fred Delplancq in a quartet performance intitled "Tribute to John Coltrane".

This tribute will be based on Coltrane's work with pianist Red Garland in the late 50's. We can nowadays hear this collaboration on the album "John Coltrane with the Red Garland Trio" (later reissued as "Traneing In"). The formation featured John Coltrane on tenor saxophone, Red Garland on piano, Paul Chambers on bass and Art Taylor on drums.

INITIATIVE H to perform at La Fabrique-CIAM with VJ performance

Initiative H will perform on Thursday, December 17th at La Fabrique CIAM, in Toulouse. This concert will be the first executed with a VJing performance by french artist Romain Quartier.

This show will present this new art combined to the music of Initiative H's new album Darkwave (Neuklang 2015). The objective is to develop this collaboration in the future, so other concerts with the same format are to be expected in the near future.
